Hatching new scientists every day!

Tree Detective

Your child may not believe that trees are living things. Lots of experiences with these plants will help them understand that they are! Explore a neighborhood tree with your child. Invite her to put her arms around the trunk to feel its size; look at and feel the leaves and other tree parts. Taking a photo or drawing a picture will help your child remember what you discovered. Revisit the tree over time and look for signs of growth or change. For instance, in autumn, encourage your child to look for fallen seeds or nuts.
