Hatching new scientists every day!

Share the Day’s Discoveries

Review today’s explorations and ideas about shadows.

Reflect on the day’s activities by asking children to describe the new light source they learned about today. Ask, How do you make a shadow using a flashlight?

Next, use the “How a Shadow Changes” chart and the photos you took during All Sorts of Shadows. Have a volunteer explain what they did during the activity. Then ask, Were you able to change the way your object’s shadow looked without moving your object? How?

When you have finished your discussion, place these photos in the Shadow Museum learning center.
