Kids love to blow through straws into their drinks and watch the bubbles they can make, but most adults discourage that activity! If you don't want your child to blow into her chocolate milk, provide a cup of water and a straw as a special activity.
Invite your child to experiment with you by blowing softly, then harder, and by blowing at the surface of the water or way at the bottom of the cup. What do you notice? Can you see the air bubbles traveling up through the water and rising to the top? What happens when they break the surface?
For added fun, put a small bit of bubble solution in the water (remind your child not to suck on the straw) and watch some real bubble action! How long can your child blow into the straw without stopping for a breath?
