Directions

This week children continue experimenting with things that sink and float.

  • Encourage them to draw pictures of things that float or sink.
  • Invite them to make water globes: adding sequins, glitter, food coloring, and other materials to clear water bottles with caps. As they turn the bottles over, have them notice how some thing drift slowly down through the water while others bob to the surface.

Later in the week they’ll explore boats—have them draw pictures of different kinds of boats.
