Review the list of things you wrote down during the guided activity about children’s experiences with slides. Encourage children to share any additional insights or experiences.
Revisit the chart labeled “Ramps Around Us.” Add anything new children discovered today.
Then review the chart “Slide, Roll, Stay in Place.” What do the objects that roll seem to have in common? What about the objects that slide?
Let children know that in the coming weeks they will be exploring the way things roll and slide down different kinds of ramps and hills, both indoors and outdoors. They will also be drawing and writing about their discoveries and ideas.
