Hatching new scientists every day!

Share the Day’s Discoveries

Review today’s explorations and ideas about plants.

Discuss what you’ve planted so far: bean seeds, grass seeds, and green onion bulbs. Ask children to look at the “Our Plants” chart and count how many days each has been growing. Ask them to describe any changes they’ve observed in the growth of the plants.

Ask them to think about Peep in yesterday’s video and the boy in The Carrot Seed. Ask, Can you explain why it’s important to be patient when you’ve planted seeds and are waiting for them to grow?

Tell children that today you’ll be giving their parent or guardian a Family Science Letter on plants, which shares lots of different ideas about exploring plants with their families. Ask them to tell the group during Morning Circle about any discoveries they make at home about plants.
