BEAVER MOM:
Dinner!

BEAVER:
Coming!

I'll look for that stuff

and I'll be at your pond
tomorrow morning.

NARRATOR:
The next day,
Quack waited and waited...

until he couldn't wait anymore.

( Quack grunts )

QUACK:

BEAVER:

I followed clouds
and grasshoppers,

but I couldn't find you
or your feet.

I met some nice rabbits, though.

( Chirp groans )

CHIRP:

That looks like Quack's pond

and that looks like
the beaver lodge.

CHIRP:

PEEP:

then clears throat )

The next morning, Quack prepared
the fish once more.

QUACK:
The fish don't believe it.

They voted that there's
no such thing as a beaver.

I sure hope the kid
makes it this time.

( Chirp and Peep giggling )

PEEP:
Whoa... whoa... whoa!

QUACK:
Shouldn't he be here by now?

PEEP:
Whoa!

( Peep groans )

( Chirp giggles )

BEAVER:
There's supposed to be
a rock here.

Now I'm lost again and stuff.

BEAVER:
This can't be Peep's can.

It wasn't shaped like this.

BEAVER:
Peep's can!

There it is!

( Chirp whistling tune )

PEEP:
Whoa! Whoa!

QUACK:
He's not coming!

How am I going to break it
to the fish?

BEAVER:

( Quack gasps )

Come on and meet the fish!

( laughs )

( Quack grunts )

NARRATOR:
Quack and Beaver Boy swam
and played all day long.

QUACK:

( Quack chuckling )

NARRATOR:
And when it was time to go home,

the fish got an invitation
to swim in the beaver pond.

( Quack chuckles )

QUACK:
Fish can't come to your pond.

Fish can't leave the water,
and they can't walk.

Nope, can't walk, can't.

BEAVER:
They don't have
to leave the water.

They can just swim
up this stream.

ALL:
Huh?

PEEP:
Your pond is connected
to this pond?

BEAVER:
Yeah.

QUACK:
So why'd you walk and get lost
instead of just swimming here?

BEAVER:
You told me to walk.
