around a wading pool

when Peep
got a little too curious.

I'd save you.

a duck in water!

( Chirp giggles )

CHIRP:
That boat is beating you.

Not for long!

( Peep and Chirp cheering )

Yes! Quack wins!

QUACK:
Of course.

I have the power of duck feet!

( hums a fanfare )

QUACK:

to say good-bye.

Today's the day I'm heading out
to Green Island--

amazing Green Island,
the ducks' paradise.

( sighs )

Non-swimmers can't come.

PEEP:
Is Green Island really
as amazing as you say?

CHIRP:

I wish I were a duck.

QUACK:

He can swim like a duck,

but he sings
like one, too.

PEEP:
I wish I could swim
like that.

PEEP:
Look at him go,
just like a boat.

( sighs )

CHIRP:

PEEP:
We could both go
in that boat!

CHIRP:

I don't feel safe
in any water

that's not a birdbath.

NARRATOR:
But Peep, being Peep,
couldn't forget it.

( Peep groaning )

NARRATOR:
On that day, Peep became

the first small, round, yellow
ship's captain in history.

( Peep whistling
"Sailor's Hornpipe" badly )

( gasps )

Ahoy, Chirp!

CHIRP:
Peep! What are you doing?

Sailing to Green Island!

Stay right there.

I'll come get you.

CHIRP:

Boats aren't for birds.

This water's moving a lot faster

than the water in that pool.

( gasps )

CHIRP:
Uh-oh...

that's a lot of water.

CHIRP:
Jump up here!

NARRATOR:
Chirp realized that Peep's boat

was being pushed
by the current into the bay.

Once he passed under the log,

she wouldn't be able
to help him anymore.

CHIRP:
You've got about
two seconds to jump!

Okay...

now!

( thud )

( groan )

Oh, no!

( Chirp grunts )

PEEP:
Why'd you jump?

CHIRP:
So I'd know where you are.

PEEP:
But now we're both stuck.

Uh... I know.

NARRATOR:
It's one thing to be stuck
in a narrow creek.

It's another to get
lost in... Big Bay.

CHIRP:
There's no way
to turn this boat around!

NARRATOR:
Peep thought about
how his life would change

if he had to stay on the boat.

He'd miss his home...

( Peep sighs )

NARRATOR:
But he'd meet a lot of fish,
which wouldn't be bad.

I have an idea!

PEEP:

( Chirp inhales deeply )

( screaming ):
Help!

NARRATOR:
Meanwhile, on Green Island,

Quack was taking
the perfect nap...

( Quack snoring )

CHIRP and PEEP:
Help!

NARRATOR:
Until he was awakened
by the distant shouts.

CHIRP and PEEP:
Help!

Help!

( Peep and Chirp shouting )

Help! Help!

QUACK:
Hey, you guys!

PEEP:
Quack!

( Chirp grunts )

CHIRP (hoarsely):
Quack...

PEEP:
You heard us!

QUACK:
Yes.

You're making
a lot of noise.

Could you
please keep it down?

Ducks are napping.

Okay, I'm going back to,
ahh... Green Island.

Bye!

( both yell )

QUACK:
Hold it.

What are you doing
all the way out here?

PEEP:
We can't get back.

The water keeps pushing
us away from shore.

CHIRP:
Could you call
for some help?

Sure.

( shouting ):
Help!

CHIRP:
No!

Go and get help!

QUACK:
But if I leave,

I may never
find you again.

This calls for...
the power of duck feet!

( hums a fanfare )

( humming )

Hey, this might be a really good
time to take us to Green Island.

( struggling )

I don't think I'd...
I'd make it.

( quacks )

( Peep sighs )

NARRATOR:
And so, the stalwart blue duck
fought the relentless current

and swam for shore
with all his amphibious might.

( Quack strains and quacks )

( grunts )

( kissing )

( panting with exhaustion )

PEEP:
That was so interesting!

I never knew water
moved like that.

Careful, Peep!

PEEP:
Sure.

Water can be dangerous,

so until
you understand it,

always bring a duck.

( Quack groans )
